Robert Lee Wolfe, Sr., 65, of Monroe, passed away Sunday, Jan. 13, 2019, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 17 at Coburn Funeral Home in Monroe. Burial will take place at Silent City Cemetery. Visitation will take place 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16 at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the family and condolences may be left for the family at coburnfuneralhomes.com.
The son of Robert L. and Lucille (Jenkins) Wolfe, Bobby was born Oct. 17, 1953, in Newton. He graduated from Monroe High School in 1973. He attended several Southern Baptist Churches in Jasper County. Bobby was a member of the Monroe JaCees. He enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting. Watching western movies and reading western books. Bobby never knew a stranger.
Those left to honor his memory include his children, Robert Lee (Christiana Leeman) Wolfe, Daniel Wolfe and Jennifer Walker; eight grandchildren, Paige, Taylor, Carmen, Maddison, Allison, Isaac, Mikel and Alexander; a brother, Bill (Julia) Wolfe; a sister, Carol (Ron) Wheeldon; sisters-in-law, Bambi Wolfe and Jean Vos; his former wives, Tamara Zink and Phyllis Roff; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents; a granddaughter, Meckena; a sister-in-law, Debra Slycord; and a great-niece, Hannah.
