NEVADA — The Baxter softball team continued with its winning ways on Tuesday with an impressive 7-1 road win over Class 3A Nevada during non-conference action.
The Bolts got an RBI double from senior Jordynn Wesselink to go up 1-0 early. After Nevada tied the game in the second, the Bolts scored five runs in the fourth to go back in front for good.
The five-run fourth inning featured seven straight singles.
Complete statistics for the game were unavailable, but Wesselink finished 4-for-4 with a double and two RBIs and junior Sydney Schmidt got the win in the circle.
Nevada, which has lost four out of its last five games, fell to 6-11 on the season.
Baxter won its second straight game and is now 11-9.
The Bolts play at Colo-NESCO at 7 p.m. Wednesday in McCallsburg.
