When Spangler Automotive owner Bryan Spangler was searching for a thriving small town to open a dealership in, he decided Newton would make the best third location for his business.
“The owners decided they wanted to find a location where there was a good high-end used car market, and Newton had a great background and a great history,” Chuck Bierman, finance manager said. “We have the race track here and this location is great on First Avenue with a lot of traffic.”
Bierman has 25 years of experience as a finance manager, and he hopes customers’ interest in the new dealership continues.
“We have sold four cars in the last two days,” Bierman said. “There is a guy coming this afternoon to look for a vehicle for his wife for Christmas.”
Mark Hermosillo, sales representative at Spangler Automotive, said prior to working for Bryan Spangler he always referred people to his other locations in Glidden and Webster City.
Spangler Automotive offers a wide range of used cars, trucks and SUVs at 1217 First Ave.
“Once I found out he was coming to Newton, it’s a thriving community and I think there’s a void here for used vehicles,” Hermosillo said. “There are used car dealerships, but I think a lot of the dealerships here don’t have the vehicles that we offer.”
In addition, Hermosillo, who brings 15 years of sales experience to the dealership, said Spangler Automotive wanted to be a part of the growth in the Newton community.
“We believe if you treat a customer right then they’ll come back,” Hermosillo said. “Our biggest thing is to make this dealership No. 1 out of all three dealerships.”
Hermosillo said the feedback he has heard from customers has been positive with people commenting on how great the 50-car lot is and its location.
“It gets me more excited when we continue to hear compliments,” Hermosillo said. “Everything we do is based around the needs of the customer, if we don’t have what they need, the nice thing is we have three dealerships we can pull from.”
Hermosillo said the dealership is also getting vehicles in every day and then conditioning them.
“If it’s not fit to drive for my family, then it’s not fit to drive for our customers,” Hermosillo said. “It’s about finding the right vehicle that fits their needs, their budget and their lifestyle.”
Along with customer satisfaction when choosing a vehicle, Bierman said there are many ways to fit customer’s needs on the finance side.
“We are going to offer a full circle of options as far as financing goes,” Bierman said. “Detailing or whatever the customer may need ... and we are going to have interest rates as low as 3.15 percent and a term up to 75 months, possibly 85 months depending on what year the vehicle is.”
Hermosillo and Bierman said they are excited about supporting the community by reaching out to local detailers and local service stations when needed.
“We really want to work to put money back into the community wherever we can,” Hermosillo said.
Spangler Automotive is open Monday through Friday and from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
