Bea was born in Brooklyn, at home, as her mother told her, “on the last day of threshing.” She grew up on her parents’ farm, the oldest of four children. Bea, her sister and two brothers helped out by bailing hay. She enjoyed reading, writing poetry and playing cards. After graduating from Brooklyn High School, Bea married her first husband, Keith Osborn, settled in Marshalltown and gave birth to her two sons, Dan and Dell. After Keith passed away from injuries in a car accident, Bea met her second husband, Mike Buhrow, who was a Standard Oil agent. Bea, Mike and the boys then relocated to the nearby town of Laurel. During her time in Laurel, Bea was the city clerk of Laurel for 10 years. During those years, she taught Sunday school, sang in the choir, was an active member of the Laurel American Legion Auxiliary, Harold McBroom Unit #635 where she held the office of the Third District President for two terms, was a member of the United Methodist Women’s Club and was a life member of Beta Sigma Phi. She also enjoyed dancing and watching her children and grandchildren play sports. Bea was so happy to watch the Cubs win the World Series after a lifetime of hoping for it. In Bea’s younger years she loved to take trips with family to their favorite fishing spots.
Left to cherish Bea’s memory are her children, Dan and Dell Osborn; grandchildren, Jason (Laura) Osborn, Megan (Jesse) Landolt and Kristen (Tim) TeBrink; great-grandchildren, Jordan Osborn, Asher Osborn, Kaylynn TeBrink, Treyson TeBrink and Melaney TeBrink; brothers, Dick (Linda) Lineweaver and Ken (Fran) Lineweaver; brother-in-law, Dean “Uncle Deano” Lippincott; and close family friend, Barb McMeekin.
Bea is preceded in death by her husbands, Keith Osborn and Mike Buhrow; sister, Betty Lippincott; and her parents, Kenneth and Viola Lineweaver.
