Darlene Mary DeGraff, a farmer's wife for more than 50 years, died on a beautiful fall harvest day, Oct. 3, 2016, at the age of 89. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, H. Marvin DeGraff. The daughter of Mildred (Signs) and Darwin T. Duncan, Darlene lived her entire live in Colfax until moving into Newton Village in 2011. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 8 at Coburn Funeral home in Colfax, followed immediately by a memorial service at the funeral home chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Newton Village Care Center and condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com.

Darlene graduated from Colfax High School in 1945. She sold cosmetics for many years, was a member of the United Methodist Church, belonged to the United Methodist Women’s Group, belonged to the Colfax Women’s Club, was a founding member of the Colfax Red Hat Society, loved to golf and developed close bonds with her lifelong friends in the Little Bridge Club.

Darlene loved being with friends and family. Left to honor her memory are her three children, son Douglas (Dena) DeGraff of Kingwood, Texas, and their children, Kristen (husband Daniel) and Marshall, son Scott (Kim) DeGraff, his children Jason, Jared and Justin and step children Amy (husband Jake) Niederhauser and Kyle Schnell, and daughter Jeri (John) Wopata of Kansas City, Mo., and their children Matthew (Emily), Daniel, Mark (Allison), and Julia. She was also blessed with three sweet grandbabies. Preceding Darlene in death were her parents; husband; and two sisters, Helen Lee Dawson and Geraldine Grosvenor.
