Don’t Rain on Iowa’s Parade

Colfax’s toy train museum Trainland U.S.A. chugs along Grand Avenue in Des Moines Wednesday night in the annual Iowa State Fair Parade.

Thunderstorms did stop the nearly two-hour parade, which stretched from the Iowa State Capitol Building to the Western Gateway of downtown. The Iowa State Fair begins Thursday and runs through Aug. 21.
