Three Newton residents arrested on drug charges

Three Newton residents were arrested after a search warrant was executed at 132 Hickory St. where the Mid-Iowa Narcotics Enforcement Task Force sized illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia Thursday.

Scott F. Allspach, 43, is charged with possession with intent to deliver marijuana, failure to affix a drug tax stamp to marijuana, possession of schedule II with intent to deliver, fail to affix a drug tax stamp to a schedule II drug, possession of methamphetamine, three counts of possession of a firearm as a felon, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Jamie Allspach, 33, is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and Alan Altemeier, 31, is charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit and the Newton Police Department were involved in the search. All three were taken to the Jasper County Jail and are awaiting their initial appearances.
