Roger Dale Sharp, born Aug. 21, 1931, in Grinnell, to Otto and Irma (Richardson) Sharp, died Feb. 10, 2015, in Mesa, Ariz., at the age of 83. Roger graduated from Newton High School and went on to work in the Soil Conservation Service and Terra Chemical. After he retired, he moved to Mesa, Ariz., along with his loving wife of 63 and half years, Margaret. In Arizona, Roger and Margaret became members of Church of the Master Presbyterian Church in Mesa. Roger’s favorite pastime was playing bridge with his friends.
He is survived by his wife Margaret Sharp of Mesa, Ariz.; siblings Phyllis Doane of Coralville, and Beryl Sharp of Surprise, Ariz.; his son Doug (Marilyn) Sharp of Des Moines; daughter Cheryl (Richard) Heggestad of Wichita, Kan.; as well as his grandchildren Matthew and Jacob (Angela) Sharp of Des Moines, Amber (Jason) Goodvin of Lawrence, Kan., and Niki (Andrew) French of Shawnee, Kan.; and one great-grandchild, Walt Goodvin of Lawrence, Kan.
