Susan K. (Nithman) McVey, 65, of Newton, died Thursday, Jan. 15, 2015, at the Skiff Medical Center in Newton. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 21 at the Newton First Assembly of God Church, 1029 E. 19th St. N. in Newton. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20 at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton. Memorials to the Jasper County Animal Rescue League & Humane Society may be left at the Wallace Family Funeral Home or at the church on the morning of the service. Memorials may also be mailed to the funeral home please add, Attn: McVey Family on the envelope.

Those left to honor Susan’s memory are her husband, Dean of Newton; sons, Jim (Denise) McVey, Todd McVey and Brent McVey all of Newton; her two grandchildren, Nicholas and Elizabeth McVey of Newton; siblings, Lois (Dick) Noyes of Des Moines, Bud Nithman of Jamestown, Kan., and Donna Leonard of Des Moines; and her two dogs, Tia and Shelby.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and infant sister, Gertrude.
