Newton Hy-Vee employees honored at annual meeting

Each year in October, Hy-Vee, Inc. leaders recognize and celebrate employees for their longevity of service in five-year increments, from five years to 45 years and beyond.

The following Newton Hy-Vee employees were among the more than 2,500 recognized this month at the company’s 2014 Service Award dinners: Jean Coffin, pharmacy manager, five years; Josh Whitson, deli manager, 10 years; Chris Forck, pharmacist, 15 years; Khris Reeder, kitchen manager, 15 years; Kim Shepley, salad bar clerk, 15 years; Beckie Loupee, meat department clerk, 20 years; Margie Loupee, kitchen clerk, 20 years; Stephanie Bare, lead accounting coordinator, 25 years; Barry Roper, product manager, 25 years; Penny Wrage, human resource manager, 25 years; Ron Hawk, pharmacy manager, 40 years.

Eight Service Award dinners will be held throughout Hy-Vee’s trade area this month, averaging 700 attendees each.

For 50 years, the dinners and festivities honoring employees’ loyalty and helpful smiles have been a part of the supermarket chain’s culture. Those being recognized receive gifts for their years of service and personalized acknowledgment from top company executives and president.
