MAT members compete at Iowa State USTA Championships

The Marshalltown Area Tumbling/Trampoline Team recently competed at the 2104 Iowa State USTA Championships at the Bridgeview Center in Ottumwa.

The Green Team took first place in power tumbling, double mini trampoline and trampoline. MAT also took first place as overall team, scoring higher than all other teams in all combined events. The MAT team took 74 athletes and brought home 34 state champions and 12 runners-up.

MAT also had many overall high point winners. Those team members scored the highest in their level over all age groups. Overall high point winners for tumbling events: Lola Rivera was second-place high point in beginner tumbling. Taylor Morley was first-place high point in advanced beginner. Emma Bair high point in sub novice tumbling, Kyah Siegert high point in novice tumbling, Kenna Winther second place in intermediate tumbling and Alyvia Chadderdon was second place high point winner in sub advanced tumbling.

In double mini trampoline: Hannah Taylor, first-place high point winner in beginner; Kyah Siegert, second-place high point winner in Novice; Mia Rasmusson, first-place high point winner in Intermediate; Maddi Kruse, first-place high point winner is sub advanced; Jess Bookhout, second-place high point winner in advanced. In trampoline, Tayiah Siegert, second-place high point winner in beginner, Kyah Siegert first-place high-point winner in novice; Grace Fisher, first-place high point winner in intermediate; Chelsea Trotter and Jessica Bookhout, second-place high point winner in advanced. Alexis Farrell also received the Iowa sportsmanship award. Savannah Olson was nominated for the Iowa Athlete of the Year.
