Scott Michael Ulrey, 52, of Monroe died peacefully at his home; losing his battle with lung cancer on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013.
A celebration of life service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 1115 E. 19th St. N. in Newton.
The family will greet friends immediately following the celebration of life service at the funeral home.
Those left to honor Scott’s memory are his wife, Dawn of Monroe; two daughters, Jesi (Elliott) Moore of Lincoln, Neb., and Joni Ulrey-Smith (Lucas) of Monroe; a son, Benjamin Ulrey (and friend Christina) of Knoxville; six grandsons, Zachary Schneider, Ryan Schneider, Ahren Schneider, Izaiah Ulrey, Zander Smith and Aiden Smith; his mother, Verna Ulrey of Monroe; two sisters, Becky (Gary) Nolin of Monroe and Jennifer Peters of Newton; four brothers, Casey (Tammi) Ulrey of Newton, Tony (Nicole) Stafford of Prairie City, Doug (Lynn) Ulrey of Newton and Patrick Ulrey of Newton; and his many nieces and nephews.
Scott was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents; father, Michael Dean Ulrey; and his sister, Robin Goodman.
