Dorothy, the daughter of William and Grace Bernedina (Vander Linden) Langerak, was born on June 19, 1922, in rural Pella. She graduated from Pella High School and attended Central College. Shortly after, Dorothy moved to Newton, and began working as an accounting clerk at the Maytag Dairy Farm. She was united in marriage with Clarence Eaton after meeting through the Maytag Company. They were blessed with two boys; Wayne and Dennis. Dorothy stayed home to raise the boys when they were young. She later went back to work at a paint and carpet store and then as a legal secretary for the Caldwell Law Office in Newton. Dorothy was a member of the PEO Chapter ME and the First Presbyterian Church. She was an active volunteer at the church taking on many projects. Dorothy also enjoyed family genealogy.

Those left to honor Dorothy’s memory are her two sons, Wayne (Jeri) Eaton of Bella Vista, Ark., and Dennis Eaton; six grandchildren, Ryan, Bryne, Gabriel, Christine, Justine and Patrick; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, E.O. Langerak; and sister, Bernice Vander Voort.
