Judith A. Kingery

Judith Ann Kingery, 74, of Newton died on Sunday, August 26, 2012, at Skiff Medical Center under the care of Skiff Hospice.  A memorial service will be held at 6 P.M., Thursday, August 30, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church with a meal to follow the service at the church.  In lieu of flowers, memorials to Skiff Hospice, First United Methodist Church, or the United Presbyterian Church may be left at the Wallace Family Funeral Home or the church the night of the service.

Judith, the daughter of George and Wanda (Cox) Damman, was born on July 1, 1938 in Newton.  She graduated from Newton High School in 1956 and then graduated from Airline School in Miami.  She lived in Miami for a few years and worked for National Airlines.  Judith then returned to Newton and worked at Skiff Medical Center where she met and later married Harrold Kingery.  Judith and Harrold were united in marriage on March 6, 1965 at the Little Brown Church in the Vale in Nashua, Iowa.  Most recently, Judith had worked at Hunter Chiropractic in Newton, where she immensely enjoyed her daily interactions with patients, many of which became friends.

Judith was a member of the United Presbyterian Church and was attending the First United Methodist Church.  One of her passions was traveling; she had visited many countries along with taking a three month trip down the Mississippi River with her husband.  Judith also enjoyed her flowers and had an appreciation for good wine.

Those left to honor Judith’s memory are her sons, Ron Kingery of Newton and Dennis (Joyce) Kingery of Newton; daughter, Judy (Eric) Eirikson of Albion; grandchildren, Christopher Eirikson, Jenny Eirikson and KaCee (Brian) Nielsen; her 3 great-grandchildren, Gabby Eirikson, Jacob Eirikson, and Taylor Nielsen; sister, Janet Melcher of Lexington, MA; her brother, Jerry (Charlotte) Damman of rural Newton; her cat, Gavin; and many other loving friends and family including her special cousin, Evelyn Hart.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, W. Harrold Kingery in 2000; and brother-in-law, Jim Melcher.
