CVB unveils new logo, plans website update

The Newton Convention & Visitors Bureau is launching its new logo.

“We have been working on a new logo for several months”, said Linda Bacon, executive director for the Newton CVB.

The Newton CVB Board and Bacon have been looking at several new ways to draw the attention of travelers to Newton and thought updating the logo was a great place to start.

“As travelers are motoring down I-80, we want them to stop in Newton,” Bacon said. “They’ll soon be able to check their mobile devices and see the Newton CVB’s new logo on the website with the Where to Sleep, Where to Eat, Where to Shop, Local Specials and other tabs where local businesses advertise. We also place a lot of print ads, so we want to make sure those from outside our region know exactly where Newton, Iowa is located.”

The Newton CVB will be working with Art A La Carte of Newton to update their website and some of its other marketing materials with the new logo and color scheme. The Newton CVB has a new banner that will make its initial debut at the Travel Federation of Iowa’s Legislative Showcase later this month.

“We had a lot of fun with drafts of logos that were put together for us by one of our board members and staff, (Ron McCarthy and Darrin Eide of KCOB), and eventually SignPro of Newton was able to pull it all together for us,” Bacon said.
