Cindy Jo Hendrickson, the daughter of Frederick Wayne and Joan Catherine Weingartz Cordle, was born Jan. 18, 1957, in Mason City, Iowa. She attended Sacred Heart Elementary in Manly, Iowa, Holy Family Middle School in Mason City and Newan Catholic Senior High School in Mason City.

On Aug. 23, 1975, Cindy was united in marriage with Mark A. Hendrickson in Manly. Cindy devoted her life to her husband and family. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards, cooking, baking and music. Cindy was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the church choir, a Sacred Heart religious education teacher, past president of Cardinal Bowling and T.O.P.S. Cindy and her husband Mark have owned and operated Hendrickson Greenhouse in Newton for the past 28 years.

Cindy died on Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2009, at the Monarch Wing at Skiff Medical Center in Newton. She was 52 years old.

Those left to honor Cindy’s memory include her husband, Mark of Newton; her sons, Bryan (Kerri) of Corinth, Texas, and Jacob (Gina) of Frisco, Texas; her daughter, Jennifer (Todd) Slycord of Ankeny, Iowa; her grandson, Liam; her parents, Wayne and Joan Cordle; her sister, Michelle (Mark) Tuttle of Joice, Iowa; her brothers, Dan Cordle of Joplin, Mo., Joe (Caroline) Cordle of Gladstone, Mo., Dave (Brenda) Cordle of Ft. Collins, Colo., Pat (Doreen) Cordle of Manly, Rodney Cordle of Redding, Conn., Jeffrey (Kristi) Cordle of Huntley, Ill.; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

A funeral mass was this morning, Monday, Dec. 28, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Newton. Memorials may be designated in Cindy’s name and left at the church or at Pence-Reese Funeral Home.
