Douglas Frank Illingworth, 63, of Raleigh, N.C., died Sunday, Nov. 29, 2009, at the Hock Family Pavilion in Durham, N.C., after battling cancer.
The son of Frank and Betty Illingworth, he was born and raised in Newton and graduated from Newton Senior High School in 1964. He was employed by CarQuest/General Parts Inc.
Douglas is survived by daughter, Laura Illingworth of Raleigh; granddogs Brutus and Alexis of Raleigh; daughter Bridget (Daren) Illingworth-Williams of Gun Barrel City, Texas; granddaughters Kristin, Ka’Leigh and Erin Jean Wallace; father Frank of Marshalltown; sister Shirley VanGenderen; brothers Denny Illingworth and Tom (Diane) Illingworth, all of Newton; and many other nieces and nephews in Newton.
He was preceded in death by mother Betty, grandparents and great-grandparents. There will be a memorial service in Newton on Dec. 29, 2009.
