DES MOINES — Carl F. Noftsger, 82 of Des Moines, formerly of Mingo, passed away Sunday, Sept. 6, 2009, at Taylor House Hospice in Des Moines.

Funeral services for Mr. Noftsger will be on Wednesday, Sept. 9, at Coburn Funeral Home of Colfax at 11 a.m. with burial following at Greencastle Cemetery. Visitation will be today, Sept. 8, at Coburn Funeral Home of Colfax from 2 to 8 p.m. with family present to greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

Carl was born March 21, 1927, in Davis City to Carl Marion and Hattie Noftsger. Carl served in the United States Coast Guard and United States Army. He worked at Monarch Cement for 40 years.

Carl leaves behind the ones he loved the most. His wife of 60 years, Bonnie; son, Carl (Donna) of Colfax; daughter, Martha (Dale) Savage of Newton; son, Don (Christy) of Colfax; Frank (Rowena) Brugoni of Altoona; grandchildren, Carl and Alison of Altoona, Mike and Melissa of Gardner, Kan., Lisa and Chris Andersen of Audubon, Kim and Mike Herbold of Newton, Mechelle of Des Moines and Matt of Colfax; great-grandchildren, Keegan and Olivia of Altoona, Jacob and Nicholas of Kansas, Dakota and Quentin Noftsger of Audubon and Jake Herbold of Newton.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Hattie and sisters, Margaret and Colleen.
