Van Zee, DeZwarte wed

Julie Van Zee and Kevin DeZwarte were united in marriage on Oct. 4, 2008, in an outdoor ceremony at the Newton Arboretum and Botanical Garden. Parents of the couple are Arvan and Betty Van Zee of Pella and Glen and Carol DeZwarte of rural Newton.

The bride’s maid of honor was her cousin, Kathy Van Steenis. Bridesmaids were Denise Albsmeyer, Sharla Good and Lori Havenga, all sisters of the groom. Best man was the groom’s friend, Chris Jansen. Groomsmen were Matt Leinen, friend of the groom, Merlin Van Zee, brother of the bride, and Ty Russell, nephew of the bride. The reception was held immediately following the ceremony in a tent at the Arboretum.

Julie graduated from Pella Christian High School and Iowa State University. She had been working in Toledo, Ohio, and is now employed at Senior Financial Advisors in Bellevue, Wash. Kevin graduated from Lynnville-Sully High School and Iowa State University and is employed at Darigold Inc. in Seattle, Wash. They are now at home in the Seattle area.
