Collins-Maxwell-Baxter got the better of Colfax-Mingo in county basketball action Friday night, as the Raider boys won 58-51 and the girls were victorious 47-34 in Baxter.

A big first quarter proved to be the difference maker for the Raider boys (5-15, 4-13 Heart of Iowa Conference), who were almost dead-even with the Tigerhawks (4-15, 2-15) for the remainder of the game. CMB led 14-9 after one, then held just a two-point edge in the remaining quarters.

Sophomore Bryce Kemp led the Raiders with 14 points, while junior Austin Moorman had 10. Junior Zach Samson narrowly missed a double-double with nine points and 11 rebounds.
