To the Editor:

What ever happened to our hero “Mighty Mouse” who always saved the day? Did Bullwinkle and that aggravating flying squirrel Rocky quit fighting against Russia’s Natasha and Boris? During World War II our Popeye and Olive Oil were of course my favorites as a child. Wimpy the hamburger man was a man after my favorite food, “I love hamburgers”! The enemy or adversary of Popeye was Bluto. After my hero Popeye downed a can of his spinach, Bluto always lost the fight.

Times have changed and perhaps I need to spend more time looking at the animated world of our heroes of today. Will someone tell me who they are? Do they still save the day or world? I believe we need all of the heroes we can get, don’t you? I would like to think those that were elected will be our heroes and will fight off evil and moral wrong doings, but perhaps that is only possible in the animated cartoons of fantasy. Anyway, I wish to thank and congratulate as well as extend my sympathy to all who were elected to office or the Skiff board this week. Your rewards on the most part may only come from knowing you did your best! As for those leaving these volunteer positions, I thank you for serving us.
