Christmas open house downtown
a huge success

To the Editor:

Wow! The Greater Newton Area Chamber of Commerce retail committee Open House that was held on Sunday, November 1st, 2009, was a huge success with a record number of people that attended.

The afternoon was a great success and we want to thank the following people for helping out on this special day; the BETCHAW & Friends with director Jane Johnson that caroled around the square, Keith and Phyllis McDonald for the carriage rides and Park Centre for sponsoring the rides. Bob Doerring and Mike Beukema for roaming the square dressed in red & white. And especially ... all of the people that came downtown to participate in this year’s Christmas Open House.

It was absolutely wonderful to see everyone enjoying the perfect weather that we had wandering from store to store, visiting with friends along the way, enjoying the treats that businesses had prepared and getting into the holiday spirit! What a wonderful memory this 2009 Chamber retail committee event was!

Please make sure to watch for upcoming events by the Greater Newton Area Chamber of Commerce retail committee in the future at www.experiencenewton.com. Thanks again for supporting our economy — shopping local!
