Book Review of the Week by Library Staff Member Sarrah Knight The second in the new Bride Quartet, Nora Roberts’ latest, “Bed of Roses,” picks up right where “Vision in White” left off. Mac, Emma, Laurel, and Parker, friends since childhood, run a successful wedding planning business in their hometown. Emma, the dreamer of the lot, has always secretly had a thing for their friend Jack. It throws the group off a little when the two throw caution to the wind and try it out — both knowing the other doesn’t have the same goals for life. Emma is determined that she won’t let Jack’s lack of commitment bother her, that she’ll take it as it comes. But even a patient woman has her limits, and Emma worries that, despite their promises to the contrary, she won’t be able to keep up the pretext of “just being friends” once she’s called it off.
