Kelley isn’t the right person for the job

I believe Dan Kelley is a nice guy, but our community requires far more. Dan Kelley isn’t the right person for the job.

This election cycle has become intense. While that can be healthy, I see a lot that isn’t healthy in terms of ads, comments and acts on behalf or defense of candidates. There aren’t many people who are thrilled with the entire political class as a whole. Overall, as a local community and a country, we’re dissatisfied with the performance of our elected officials.

I hold a couple of passions I pay close attention to and they include the defense and support of 2nd Amendment virtues and protection of the unborn. I have tried until I could puke coat hangers to work with Dan Kelley, my local representative. I’m diligent with contact, emails and have offered to make myself available for a discussion with Dan. He has continually agreed we need to meet, but never taken the time to do so. At first,I thought he was simply putting me off and didn’t share my values. I now believe it was a combination of lacking values on Dan’s part and possibly his busy disc jockey schedule.

I understand we all lead busy lives. However, when Dan raised his hand and said “I want to work for my neighbors” and ran for election, he committed to doing a job for us. He hasn’t done that job. He asked for our thoughts, but didn’t take time to listen to them. He wrote me personally telling me how much he supported the 2nd Amendment but voted against every 2A house file in the last four years.

In my estimation Dan is probably a nice guy. I’m sure he’d be a fun person to visit with and if I needed a person to DJ my wedding he’d be a consideration. However, how can Dan Kelley relate and understand my concerns when he won’t contact with me and make good on a promise to visit over the course of four years? How can Dan Kelley possibly make decisions that honor my family when he has nearly no life experience necessary to make solid decisions on behalf of the constituents he seeks to serve?

He cannot. I believe Dan Kelley is a nice guy, but our community requires far more. Dan Kelley isn’t the right person for the job.
