Marshall Critchfield was my roommate in Washington, D.C. 15 years ago. I grew up in Spain and my English was not very good when I first arrived. Marshall was the kind of guy that made me feel welcome — he spoke enough Spanish to where we could communicate very well together. And it was not just me. Everyone he met took an instant liking to him. Even in a politically-divided city like Washington, Marshall made friends wherever he went.
I had the opportunity to host Marshall in Madrid. I was amazed at how his good nature and friendliness carried over half-way around the world. My parents wanted him to move here!
Thankfully we have been able to keep in touch all these years. I love his wife Stephanie and was so happy to see them over Christmas a few years ago. Seeing him run for public office has made me very proud of him and I wanted to let everyone in Jasper County to know just how special Marshall is. He represents his country and his family well and I know he will do the same for all of your readers.
