Martha Speaks to visit, pumpkin decorating concert at library

Wilbor or Freegal asking you for a PIN?

Logging into Wilbor, Freegal and our library will now require your PIN (as well as Freegal and the catalog). Your PIN right now is CHANGEME (one word, all caps) and you will want to do two things at some point: Log into the library catalog using your library card and CHANGEME as the default PIN. Immediately go to My Account, choose User PIN Change, and choose another PIN for yourself (4-8 characters).

Before you log out, go to Email Change Request and add your email address to your account. That way, if you ever forget your PIN you will be able to change it 24/7 without our assistance. We’re instituting this added security in anticipation of upgrading the catalog for bill paying online in the near future. If you have any problems with this process, please call the library at (641) 792-4108.

Martha Speaks visits the library

At 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Martha Speaks will be at the library for a story time and photo. Free PBS educational apps will also be available for iPads, iPhones and Android tablets. Bring your device with you if interested in the free applications. Open to all kids, no registration required.

Pumpkin Decorating Contest!

Enter a pumpkin in our Book Character Pumpkin Decorating Contest. Decorate a pumpkin as a book character: paint, dress, and/or accessorize it, but do not carve it. Entries will be accepted Oct. 20-24 and can be made individually or as a family. Pumpkins will be displayed in the Children’s Library, and the public is invited to vote ballot-style for their favorite entry. The winner will be announced on Oct. 31 and will win a gift basket of children’s books, DVDs and other Halloween treats. Entry forms are available at the Youth Service’s Librarian’s desk.

Google email class

The Library is offering a Gmail class at 10 a.m. Oct. 31 in the library meeting room. Learn how to set-up, navigate, and use Gmail (Google Email). Bring your log-in and password if you already have an account. Participants must register by calling (641) 792-4108.
