LECLAIRE — A LeClaire distillery is expanding with work to build more warehouse space and create a patio spot for visitors.
Mississippi River Distilling Co. has begun a $125,000 project that will create more storage space where barrels containing Cody Road Bourbon and Cody Road Rye whiskies can age. The 57-foot-by 25-foot concrete warehouse will include rooftop space for a patio and plaza that is accessible to the distillery’s tasting room.
The project is expected to be completed later this month.
Mississippi River Distilling sells its products in 22 states and three other countries.
A new brewery also is planned nearby.
Richard Day, owner of Green Tree Brewing Co., says the beer brewery and distillery should complement each other.
