Life-long Democrat endorses Critchfield for recorder

Rev. Dr. Carl Rothshild-Bond

Newton

I like Marshall Critchfield’s qualifications for Jasper County Recorder. As a history major in college he understands the importance of protecting and preserving historical documents. Studying business in graduate school and graduating with an MBA, he excelled in the rigors of academic discipline — enabling him to think independently and make informed decisions based on all available information.

As a former business owner and now an executive mortgage analyst with Wells Fargo, he knows what people want and is eminently capable of meeting their expectations. Marshall’s extensive leadership experience has taught him the importance of being accountable for his innovations and decision making.

I believe Critchfield’s success in the private sector is exactly what we need in our municipal workforce. History has often shown the longer people hold public office, the state of progress and forward thinking becomes stifled and stagnation sets in. Consequently, the office holder seems happy to maintain the status quo and be a caretaker of their office. Hand-picked successors usually perpetuate more of the same mindset. New leaders with proven track records who are innovative and focus on the future are what is needed to bring about modernization and forward progress.

Marshall is both an innovator and forward thinker and would bring a pair of “fresh eyes” to the office of county recorder. Accordingly, I urge all registered voters —Democrats, Republicans and Independents, to carefully consider Marshall’s qualifications and join me in voting for Marshall Critchfield for Jasper County Recorder on Nov. 4.
