• Mark A Catton, 58, of LeMars, is charged with carrying weapons after authorities were called to the Boulders Inn and Suites at 3:06 p.m. Thursday. Officers spoke with an employee who said they found a hand gun under a pillow in a room. The gun was a Colt .45 Cal Combat Commander with a clip of seven bullets inside it. Catton showed up and said that he had forgot his gun but when asked he said he did not have a permit. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Richard E. Keller, 32, of Newton, is charged with possession of a controlled substance and providing false identification information after authorities were called to 209.5 N. Second Ave. W. at 1:05 p.m. Thursday. Keller initially gave a false name when speaking with officers but admitted he lied. While searching Keller, officers found a baggie containing marijuana. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Janelle D. Finks, 33, of Altoona, is charged with possession of a controlled substance and driving while license suspended after authorities were called to 1323 First Ave. W. at 6:04 p.m. Sunday. Officers were told of a reckless driver and that they went to get gas. Officers found Finks, who wanted to go to the bathroom after officers arrived. She was found to have a suspended license and while searching her, officers found a bag of meth. She was taken to the Jasper County Jail.
