• Jolene K. Lewis, 37, of Newton, is charged with driving while license suspended and no insurance after authorities pulled her over in the 100 block of East Fifth Street North at 1:20 a.m. Tuesday. Officers pulled her over for a brake light out. She was cited and released to appear.

• Christopher P. Stitt, 23, is charged with public intoxication after authorities were called to 200 N. Second Ave. W. at 2:25 p.m. Thursday. Officers saw Stitt standing in the middle of the street and after approaching him, noticed a strong smell of alcohol. He also had red, watery, blood shot eyes and slurred speech. He said several times that he was drunk and could not tell the officers where he lived. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Amber A. Wielard, 19, of Newton, was arrested on a Jasper County warrant for probation violation on a operating a motor vehicle without owner’s consent and fraud charge after authorities stopped her in the 1100 block of West Sixth Street South at 4:24 p.m. Wednesday. She was taken to the Jasper County Jail.
