Newton Community School District Superintendent Bob Callaghan said the area behind Newton Senior High School known as the Children’s Forest will be temporarily closed for maintenance work.
The Children’s Forest is home to a portion of Newton’s recreational hiking/biking trail. Callaghan said he expects the work to be completed by Friday and that the school district will inform the public if it takes longer.
