Richard W. “Bill” Cox

Richard W. “Bill” Cox, 89, of Newton died Saturday, Sept. 13, 2014, in his home at Park Centre in Newton.

A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16, at the Community Heights Alliance Church, 2500 S. 13th Ave. E. in Newton. The family will greet friends from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Sept. 16, at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the Community Heights Alliance Church. Memorials may be left at the church on the day of services or they may be left at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton. Memorials may also be mailed to the funeral home; please add, Attn: Cox Family on the envelope.

Those left to honor Bill’s memory are his wife of 62 years, Isabelle; two daughters, Vicki Schutt of Clive and LeAnn (Dwight) Ponder of Wentzville, Mo.; his four grandchildren, Bethany, Sara, Jason and Brandi; and two great-grandchildren, Royce and Hailey.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Don and Frank Cox.
