Progress Industries celebrates Direct Support Professionals Recognition Week

Progress Industries is celebrating National Direct Support Professionals Recognition Week this week in an effort to honor individuals who provide support and training for people with disabilities in our community.

Established in 1979, Progress Industries is a CARF (Commission on Accreditation for Rehabilitation Facilities) accredited non-profit agency that provides employment training and placement, residential and day habilitation services to individuals with disabilities throughout central Iowa.

Progress Industries serves approximately 250 individuals with disabilities on an annual basis and employs nearly 300 people, most of whom are  direct support professionals.

“P.I.’s direct support employees are the front line of the organization’s success,” said Dan Skokan, president and CEO for Progress Industries. “Our dedicated staff provide individualized training and support for people with disabilities to live as independently as possible. We appreciate direct support professionals for all they do to ensure our families, friends and neighbors can live with dignity and comfort.”
