Lynnville-Sully volleyball loses

SIGOURNEY — Lynnville-Sully’s volleyball team opened the South Iowa Cedar League season on the road Thursday and lost to host Sigourney.

Sigourney scored a 25-18, 25-17, 25-11 win over the Hawks. Lynnville-Sully is 1-1 on the season and 0-1 in league play. The Hawks are at Keota Thursday in SICL action.

Shelby Davis delivered seven kills to lead the net attack for Lynnville-Sully. Brenna Lanser pounded down six kills and Lysandra James had five kills. Riley Rockwell was credited with nine set assists.

Lanser came up with 15 digs and Davis had 10 digs. Katy Sevcik served up four aces while Davis and Taylor Vander Leest had one service ace apiece.
