MADRID — Colfax-Mingo’s volleyball team split a pair of matches to begin its season Thursday night.
The Tigerhawks defeated the host Tigers, 25-23, 25-18 in their first match of the night and then lost to Colo-Nesco, 15-25, 16-25.
No stats were available at press time.
“I was very impressed with the way we played,” Colfax-Mingo head coach Michelle Grant said. “We took the drills and tools we learned in practice and translated them to the game very well.”
Grant mentioned Reis Wilson and Sara Lahart’s contributions in the team’s first win of the season as both players’ serves were instrumental in defeating Madrid.
The Tigerhawks next match is Sept. 11 at South Hamilton.
