Mary Louise Gulling

Mary Louise Gulling, 67, of Newton died Aug. 26, 2014, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton. A funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 30 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Colfax. Burial will follow at Colfax Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be directed to Skiff Hospice or the Skiff Cancer Clinic. The daughter of Thomas and Lucille (Maher) Mindam, Mary was born on Sept. 22, 1946, in Des Moines. She graduated from Colfax High School in 1964. She was united in marriage to Ron Gulling in February of 1965 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Colfax. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Mary enjoyed scrapbooking and attending her grandchildren’s events. She also volunteered at Skiff Hospice, Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the historical museum.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Ron; two children, Tony (Debbie) Gulling of Newton and Tami (Tom) Watson of Johnston; six grandchildren, Josh Berger, Jake (Jenni) Berger, Kylie and Kolbi Watson, Jaise and James Gulling; and a great-granddaughter, Layla Berger. Preceding her in death were her parents, a brother Larry and her twin sister, Cecelia Ann.
