Six members of the Marshalltown Area Tumbling and Trampoline Team claimed national event championships at last month’s U.S.T.A. National Trampoline and Tumbling meet.

The MAT team competed in the national competition, June 17-21, at Broadbent Arena in  Louisville, Ky. This week the team members are competing in the 2014 AAU Junior Olympics meet in Des Moines.

Titia Chesick, Taylor Morley, Macey Lampe, Emma Bair, Grace Fisher and Tayiah Siegert are national event champions in their individual age groups. Chesick in beginning tumbling (age 11), Morley in advanced beginner tumbling (age 10), Lampe in sub novice tumbling (age 6), Bair ins sub novice tumbling (age 10), Fisher in novice tumbling (age 12), and Siegert, beginner trampoline (age 12).

MAT took 54 members to compete against more than 2,300 athletes from across the United States. Most members of area team made the podium or placed in the top 10 in power tumbling, Olympic trampoline and double-mini trampoline events.
