Jeff McGinley, 52, of Watertown, S.D., died July 16, 2014, due to diabetic complications.
A memorial mass will be at 10:30 a.m. July 19 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Watertown. Visitation is prior to services. Burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Watertown. The family requests memorials the Watertown Salvation Army or the United Way. Honorary urn bearers will be his sons, Philip, Marcus and Stefan McGinley, and son-in-law, Darrek Olson.
Jeffrey Ray McGinley, son of Earnest Winford and Betty June (Hood) McGinley, was born Dec. 15, 1961, in Newton. He graduated from Newton Senior High School, and attended Mount Marty College for three years. He married Elise Tobin Aug. 25, 1987, in Watertown. They lived in Watertown and Jeff was employed by Hy-Vee Food Stores until the mid 90s when he joined Hesco Incorporated in sales, until the present time. Jeff was an avid Hawkeye fan. He enjoyed playing golf, cards, and especially video games with his children. Most importantly he loved being with his family.
Survivors are his wife, Elise; children, Celene (Darrek) Olson of Mitchell, S.D., Philip McGinley of Pleasanton, Calif., Natalie, Marcus, Olivia and Stefan McGinley all Watertown, S.D.; his mother and father-in-law, Paul and Lorette Tobin of Rapid City, S.D.; siblings, Patricia (Dave) Drew, John (Joy) McGinley, Dianna (Lloyd) Machin all of Newton, and Daniel (Tamara) McGinley of Quincy, Calif.; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his niece, Elaina Machin.
