MAT students perform during Fourth

Image 1 of 2

Marshalltown Area Tumbling/Trampoline had several of its recreational and team members participate in Newton's Fourth of July parade. Many of the students had a temporary 'MAT BRAT' tattoos, which added to their "Green Team" spirit, and the students performed along the parade route. The students had a break while MAT staff and families set up a 60-foot rod floor, carpeted foam rolls, shapes and double-mini trampoline, and MAT athletes then performed various skills on the elevated rod floor, from front and back rolls to limbering skills, flips, twists and aerial moves. Even more high flying maneuvers were performed on the double mini trampoline, evoking "oohs" and "aahs" from the crowd. Several MAT performers had just returned from a trip to Louisville, Ky., for the USTA National Competition. For more fun things going on at MAT, check out www.mattumblers.com. Registration for fall classes will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Aug. 13 and 15.
