Merrilee Sue George, the daughter of Leland Bowie and Helen Frances Ogg, was born Dec. 3, 1952, in Newton. She graduated from the Newton Senior High School and received a degree from Arizona State University.
Merrille died Thursday, May 29, 2014, at her home in Newton. She was 61 years old.
Those left to honor Merrilee’s memory include her brother, Fred (Cheryl) George of Cedar Falls; her nephews, Jim George, Jeff George and Justin George; and her niece, Jill Hartzell.
No services are planned at this time. As per Merrilee’s wishes, her body has been donated to the University of Iowa. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to a charity of the donor’s choice.
