Inez Marie Armstrong, the daughter of Frank and Vera (Carrol) Camp, was born Jan. 10, 1934, in Boone.
Inez worked at Thombert’s in Newton for many years as a mold handler. She loved her family and grandchildren and was always willing to help her family when needed. She loved being a foster grandmother. Inez worked for several years at the YMCA Daycare and was sad when her health would not allow her to continue. Inez enjoyed baking, playing cards — especially solitaire, making Christmas candy, camping, watching CNN and keeping the family apprised of breaking news, old time country music and “re-arranging” furniture.
Inez died Monday, May 26, 2014, at her home in Newton. She was 80 years old. Inez was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Candy Oldenburger on Nov. 1, 2004; grandsons, Josh and Kyle; several brothers and sisters.
Those left to honor Inez’s memory include her daughters, Cindy (Ron) Swisher of Newton, Sandra (Joe) Reynolds) of Newton and Belinda (James) Genco of Ames; her eight grandchildren; her 10 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; her sisters, Ruth Dailey and Mary Lou Miller; her brother, Don Camp; and her many friends.
A service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 30, at the Pence-Reese Funeral Home in Newton. The family will greet friends from 9:30 a.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be designated in Inez’s name to Skiff Hospice and may be left at the funeral home.
