Newton Senior High School has a strong contingent competing in this week’s 2014 Iowa  State Track and Field Championships at Drake University in Des Moines. Competition began this morning at Drake Stadium and runs through Saturday. Newton competitors at the state meet in Class 4A events are (left to right), junior Sarah Kalkhoff, discus; senior Michaela Bleeker, discus, shot put; senior Levi Michener, shuttle hurdle relay; junior Jarom Williams, shuttle hurdle relay; junior Deonne Harris, 110-meter high hurdles, shuttle hurdle relay; junior J.
