Newton Police Department

• Craynes K. McGinley, 24, of Newton was arrested at 2:05 p.m. April 15 after Newton police were called to the adult probation office in reference to a man there wanted on two Jasper County warrants for probation violation. He was transported to the Jasper County Jail.

• Megan R. Miller, 28, of Newton was charged with driving while license suspended and cited for no seatbelt after authorities stopped her at 7:10 p.m. April 14 in the 300 block of East Eighth Street North for not wearing her seatbelt. She was charged and released to appear in court.

• Joshua L. Wielard, 24, of Newton was arrested on a Woodbury County warrant for theft after Newton police responded to an incident at 1:25 p.m. April 14 at 1432 N. Ninth Ave. Place E. and located Wielard there. He was transported to the Jasper County Jail.

• Russell F. Wood, 30, of Newton was arrested on a Polk County warrant for a drug charge after Newton police were advised of the warrant and located Wood at 4:42 a.m. April 15 at 1718 W. Fourth St. N. #1. He was transported to the Jasper County Jail.

A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. It is the policy of the Newton Daily News to release the names of individuals charged with a crime who are 16 and older.
