On Thursday, March 20, the Newton Public Library will have a showing of “Jane Eyre” (2011) at 6 p.m. in the library meeting room. Synopsis: A mousy governess who softens the heart of her employer soon discovers that he’s hiding a terrible secret. Based off the classic book “Jane Eyre” by Charlotte Bronte.
Possum and the Peeper-Knee High Naturalists
Join the Jasper County conservationists from 10:20 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 19, in the library meeting room. Who is this mysterious Peeper, and will Possum ever find him? This program will get children ready for spring, allow them to learn about wildlife and have them searching for the Peeper hiding out at the library! For kids ages 3 to 5.

Computers for
Beginners Class
The library is again offering Computers for Beginners from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Monday, March 17; 5 to 6:30 p.m. Monday, March 24; and 10 to 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 26.
Participants register for one class by calling the information desk at (641) 792-4108. Participants will learn the basic components of a computer, the keyboard and how to move a mouse. Laptops are provided.
Job Search
Strategies Workshop
Iowa Works will be having a workshop on job search strategies from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday, March 18, in the library meeting room. Register by calling the information desk at (641) 792-4108.
Participants will learn: top five most effective job search strategies; effective vs. non-effective job search strategies; using your strengths/preferences to target organizations; Internet research, networking and social networking sites; top 10 jobs discussed; how to conduct online job search and complete online applications (participants will discuss and be shown via projector); and create a job search weekly action plan.
Participants will not be using computers in this workshop.

Find federal forms and instruction booklets near the information desk.
A reminder that Iowa tax forms are no longer shipped to us by the state; we can either print off the forms for you at the desk for 10 cents a page or provide you with the phone number to call for forms to be shipped to your home. If you have any questions, call (641) 792-4108.
