Earl May Cares community event Saturday

Earl May Nursery & Garden Center has joined with the Newton Salvation Army Food Bank for its Earl May Cares community event.

Earl May in Newton will be collecting canned and boxed goods to be delivered to the Salvation Army Food Bank on Saturday. Donations may be dropped off through Saturday during normal store hours, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

In addition to the food drive, Earl May will donate 20 percent of its sales on Saturday to the Salvation Army Food Bank.

During the all-day event Saturday, Earl May will be focusing on educating families and the community on growing their own vegetables, herbs and fruits, no matter the space. There will be lawn and garden seminars as well as garden activities for the kids.
