Tigerhawks fall in districts

ALLEMAN —Colfax-Mingo’s boys ended their season on Monday with a 65-36 loss to North Polk in the first round of district play. The Tigerhawks finish the 2013-14 basketball season winless, at 0-23.

This marks the second time in the past three seasons the Tigerhawks have finished the season without a win, with the closest game coming Dec. 10, a 56-50 loss at Greene County.

Fellow sophomore Jacob Lietz was second on the team in points with 6.9 per game. Lietz’ 55 assists were tops among all Tigerhawks this season. C-M lacked a true deep threat, but senior Juan Gonzales stepped up to lead the team with 10 threes.

C-M graduates seniors Nate Smith, Gonzales, Marcus Tomlonovic and James Stoecker.
