The winner of the “Key Award” was the Jasper County Young Professionals for the Thanks with Franks event held this summer. Greater Newton Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Darrell Sarmento commended the group for keeping this traditional Newton event running through the years. Jeff Price, Kristin Titus, Amanda Price and Sveta Miller were on hand to accept the award for The Young Professionals of Jasper County.

Newton Manufacturing employee Toni Peska was honored with the “Community Service Award.” The award is given for an individual’s long-term involvement in community betterment projects through activities such as church, civic, community service or political organizations and his or her given profession.

Steve Long was honored Thursday night during the Greater Newton Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner for his time through the past year as the Chamber board chair.
