Newton police officers and Jasper County deputies recently helped children in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program shop for Christmas gifts for their family members, at no cost to the families, as part of the annual Shop With Cops event. The children enjoyed lunch later at the Masonic Lodge in Newton, and police officers’ spouses helped them wrap their presents with a visit from Santa.
