Lunch and Learn at Museum

The monthly Lunch and Learn at the Jasper County Historical Museum will begin at noon Wednesday. The program will given by Charles Osborn on how he makes model farm tractors and implements. Osborn is a retired farmer from north of Newton. His story and models have been featured in the Iowa Farmer Today and the Newton Daily News. Osborn has donated two items, a handcrafted John Deere B tractor and a handcrafted John Deere manure spreader, to the museum to be used for fundraising raffles. The first item raffle will follow his presentation, and the raffle of the second item will occur at the museum's Christmas open house. Raffle tickets are still available at the museum office at 1700 S. 15th Ave. W. in Newton from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily. Tickets also will be available prior to the brown bag event on Wednesday.
