Newton Police Department

• Kendal Davis, 23, of Newton was charged with driving while license suspended after authorities stopped his vehicle at 11:13 p.m. Saturday in the 1200 block of South Eighth Avenue East for having an inoperable third brake light and determined his license had been suspended. He was charged and released to appear in court.

• Bradford K. Lehrkamp, 31, of Newton was arrested on two warrants — one out of Jasper County for failure to appear in court for a probation revocation hearing for a charge of operating while intoxicated and the other out of Adel for failure to appear in court for a probation revocation hearing on a theft charge — after Newton police responded to a complaint of Lehrkamp refusing to leave the Scoreboard on Thursday. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Shastin G. Ross, 20, of Newton was arrested on a Jasper County warrant for failure to appear in court for an initial hearing on an operating without owner’s consent charge after police stopped a vehicle in which he was a passenger at 1:15 a.m. Oct. 30 in the 1500 block of First Avenue East for not having a license plate light. Ross was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Michael T. Todd, 22, of Newton was charged with driving while license suspended after authorities stopped his vehicle at 8:46 p.m. Thursday in the 700 block of East Fourth Street South for speeding and determined his license had been suspended. He also was cited for no insurance and speeding and was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Lori A. Warden, 40, of Ira was charged with fifth-degree theft after authorities responded to a complaint of two individuals shoplifting at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Walmart. Store employees said the two individuals concealed merchandise and left the store without paying for the items. One of the subjects was identified as Warden. She was charged for allegedly stealing a bottle of oil valued at $19.23 and released to appear in court.

A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. It is the policy of the Daily News to release the names of individuals charged with a crime who are 16 and older.
